Plumbers gasket !!!

From: Steve (boxdn@yahoo.com) | Date: 2003-12-28 03:30:35 UTC
I had read about this rubber stuff a few weeks ago desided to check
it out. Six x Six inch 1/4 inch thick and only $1.50 I bought two.
The minute I got home I pulled out an old design that I could never
carve due to it's size. Now my only size limit is the size of the ink
pad which mine is 2.5 x 4 inches. Since Sunday I've carved 9 new
stamps and mounted a few to hide tomorrow. The gasket wears out
xzacto blades but I can live with that when I can get a 2x2 stamp
for .16 .

I purchased perhaps the same (red) material at Home Depot recently,
but found it to be very hard - too difficult for the Speedball gouges
that I use. I'm still looking for the right material - not too hard,
crumbly or expensive, and preferably thick enough to use without
backing.
